Maybelline's Lots of Lashes Mascara and Baby Lips Lip Balm Review

First of all I want to say that I'm a Bzzagent from bzzagent.com I got samples from a campaign I have with them to try Baby Lips Lip Balm and Lots of Lashes Mascara. This is completely my honest opinion on the products. Ok here we go!

The first product I will talk about will be the Lots of Lashes Mascara. I received mascara in the color veryblack I had tried great lashes mascara from Maybelline before and I didn't like it. I was looking forward to trying out their new mascara. Here's the information I received exactly from the bzzguide:
  • America's #1 mascara formula has a new innovative applicator brush – The Great Little Grabber!
  • Easily reaches the inner and outer corners of the eye
  • Builds your lash look with no clumps
  • Available in three washable shades
  • Available at mass retailers for $6.40
Lots of lashes mascara has a similar packaging as the original great lashes mascara. The applicator is definitely different, it's a plastic pink heart shaped brush it's really cute.
  • Likes: the applicator gets every single one of my lashes,  makes them longer.
  • Dislikes: sometimes it clumps when I apply more than two coats and flakes, I had to clean my face a couple times because little black particles fell on my face. Some went  in my eyes and I wear contacts so it was very uncomfortable. I also dont like that its not water proof. I got water splashed on my face and my eyelashes went down and the mascara started running. Wouldn't recommend it for special events.
Overall this mascara is ok. I would  buy it again but  its not my favorite.

Ok the second products I tried were the Baby Lips Lip Balms I gotta say I was very surprised of how the product was. The packaging is ofcourse super colorful and appealing. It reminds me of when I was younger and had all this play makeup.
Information that came in the BzzGuide:
  • Renews lips to their natural condition in four weeks
  • Combines eight hours of hydration with an optional color tint
  • Available in 2 clear varieties (Quenched and Peppermint) and 4 tinted varieties (Cherry Me, Pink Punch, Grape Vine and Peach Kiss)
  • Clinically proven to provide comfort and relief to stressed, dry skin
  • Protects against damage from harmful UVA/UVB rays
  • Available at mass retailers for $3.99
Anyways the balm itself goes on very smoothly, it's not like some  that in cold weather it's hard to apply. It has SPF 20 so thats definitely a plus and it's suppose to make your lips soft.  I didn't have to reapply unless I was to wipe my mouth or kissed my boyfriend. What I liked most about these balms was that some had tints of color. I'm a sucker for lip products and when I saw that some had colors I was super excited.  I got 3 tinted ones in my bzzkit and 2 clear ones to try out. I'm gonna do a quick overview on each one of them and swatches for the tinted ones.

The clear ones I used mostly for when I woke up or when I was going to sleep. I got to try number 05 in Quenched and Number 010  in peppermint.

Quenched:
  1. Smell-very faint fruity smell.
  2. Taste- no taste
Not one of my favorites, it didn't seem much different from other balms and chapsticks I already have.

Peppermint:
  1. Smell- peppermint.
  2. Taste- no taste
  3. Feel- kinda tingled when I put it on it might have just been me though :P I liked this one, out of the clear ones I used this one the most.

Before any tinted lip balms:

Cherry Me number 015.

  1. Smell- cherry.
  2. Taste-no taste
  3. Color- a sheer  red.                                                                                                                     This was my favorite out of all of them it made my lips red and they didn't look overdone. I will definitely buy another one after I finish the one I have.

Pink Punch Number 025.

  1. Smell- I can't really tell the smell.
  2. Taste-none.
  3. Color-hot pink just a bit of tint, sheer. I like this as an alternative for hot pink lipstick. It's not too much but it adds a pop of color to your lips and you can tell you were going for hot pink lips. I could easily build up for a brighter hot pink.

Last but not least I got Peach Kiss number 030.
You can barely see the sparkles.
  1. Smell- kinda peachy.
  2. Taste-none.
  3. Color-nude, some glitter, barely visible.
This one I liked for those days I want to show I have something on my lips but that is not something heavy like a clear lipgloss . It's pretty for a nude lip.

My lips did feel softer after application and  they do stay moisturized. Really liked the products overall I will be buying more lip balms after I finish these ones.

Nature's Own Bread Review

Before I go into the review I wanted to say that I'm a BzzAgent from Bzzagent.com and I received a coupon for a free Nature's Own product. Let's move on! I was really excited when I received my coupon in the mail. This is my first campaign and I couldn't wait to jump on it. With the coupon I bought Nature's Own 100% whole wheat bread because we mostly eat wheat bread at my house and it was a perfect choice. The first thing I did as soon as I got home was to make toasted sandwiches and I gotta say they were very good. The bread by itself has a different taste from other wheat breads I've tasted, I can't really describe the taste but it was really good. I was very happy with the product. I really want to try the other kinds of breads that they have and see if they are as good. I think you guys should give it a try and see how it compares from the bread you guys usually buy.

Day of the Dead Sugar Skulls

I finally have pictures of the sugar skulls I made for today. It took me sometime because I live in a really small town in the mountains where there isn't a craft store. So I had to go down the hill to find all of the things I needed and since I didn't pay attention to the ingredients I ended up missing the most important one of all. Anyways here's the link, Mexican Sugar Skulls, where I found the recipe and the ingredients it was very useful.

Here's a real quick overview of the ingredients and materials I used. Most can be found at grocery stores but the rest at craft stores like Joann and Michaels.

  1. Granulated Sugar
  2. Meringue Powder (the most important of all because otherwise the sugar won't hold)
  3. Water
  4. Skull molds of any size.
  5. Wilton Royal Icing Mix
  6. Food Coloring
  7. Decorating Pastry Bags
  8. Beads,Feathers,Sequins and anything else to decorate.
I'm not going to put the instructions but if you guys want them just click the link above I followed those exact instructions. Here are the pictures:

This is how they looked before I decorated them.
Some of the little skulls I decorated.

One of the bigger skulls I made.
I used eatable markers to decorate this one.
This one is the final altar with the candles, the sugar skull and the skeletons.
Oh I almost forgot, you can eat the sugar skulls except I would only eat the mini skulls because it's too much sugar.

Day of the Dead Part 1

So I know I said I would  talk about my Day of the Dead altar but I actually haven't been able to finish it because I haven't been able to do the sugar skulls until today but I'll post some pictures of what I have so far. It's really tiny because I don't have that much space around my house to make a bigger one. Its my mini version of one.

This is what I have so far its missing some things but hopefully I will finish it by Day of the Dead, November 2nd.

Here's how it looks lit up.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

It's the last day of October and the end of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This year I wanted to do something for the cause. My mom and I entered and Artful Bra Contest. It's pretty much an event where they auction off decorated bras to raise money for breast cancer and people vote on the bra they loved the most. We started working on it a day before the event, it was a last minute decision. I think it turned out pretty good for so little time.

I used to collect can tabs so we decided to use that to decorate the bra. We painted them with nail polish one by one it was a really long process.

We used sequins and ribbon to give it that extra girly touch.

I was pleased with the final product. The bra ended up being auctioned for $125. It was only $25 short from the highest bid on another bra. In the end I was glad I got to contribute even a little to the cause.

Candle Decorations

So for my Day of the Dead altar I needed candles, I wanted to use something that wasn't going to make the rest of my altar catch on fire. Luckily I found an alternative, I got LED flameless tealight candles at Dollar Tree which were perfect because now I could put them wherever I wanted without worrying.

Another thing I wanted to get were candle holders but not anything I wouldn't use ever again so I got these small clear vases/glasses, also at dollar tree and black pebbles to put inside just to give it that extra touch.

Here's the final product:

These are cheap and easy decorations for any occasion. In total I spent 6 dollars. I can easily replace the LED lights for real candles and even change the color of the beads. You guys should definitely give it a try. :)

Halloween Light Up Black Cat Ring

I love rings, I have a mini ring collection. I've noticed that for Halloween there aresome really awesome rings out there. Last year for Halloween I got a spider ring that took up most of my hand and it was very uncomfortable to wear but I really liked how the design was. Recently I came across such a cute ring in the Halloween jewelery section of Target. It was a black cat which eyes lighted up (or were suppose to), unfortunately the ones that were there had worn out batteries and I couldn't see it working. My boyfriend decided to buy it for me anyways because it was just so unique. We got a discount for it since it didn't light up. It originally was $7.99 and I got it for $5.48, definitely not the cheapest ring but very different and wearable. I don't remember the brand of it but if you guys want to buy one similar I would check your local Target, they had lots of variety of Halloween jewelery. I will try to change the battery on it and hopefully see it light up. I'll post pictures for you guys to check it out and tell me what you guys think of it.

Maybelline Super Stay 24 Color Review

So I recently bought the Maybelline Super Stay 24 Color in continuous coral and I gotta say it's pretty cool. I didn't really think it would last 24 hours and it didn't, it lasted a pretty long time but not 24 hours. I put it on around 9 in the morning and it lasted intact for about 4 hours it started cracking and peeling off a little. I kept using the balm that comes with the lip color. It's very convenient having it two in one. The balm comes in handy when your lips get dry. Overall I would reccomend it, it feels more like a lipstain than a lipstick. It's definitely long lasting and there are lots of colors to choose from.
